If you have ever desired a healthier life……one free of pain and disease. If you have ever suffered from fatigue, addiction ……………..or have simply wondered what else is possible (health wise) you definitely want to watch this entertaining documentary.
Not suitable for kids – Frank tells it like it is…..and frankly wheat grass and colonics aren’t that fun the first time one is introduced to them!
Ex-addict Frank Ferrante is a 54-year-old, overweight Sicilian-American from Brooklyn with hepatitis C and some bad habits. He also wants to fall in love one more time before he dies. MAY I BE FRANK documents Frank’s transformation as he stumbles into the aptly-named vegan Café Gratitude, and, over 42 days, begins a life-changing journey during which he is coached physically, emotionally and spiritually by three twenty-something staff members on the path to enlightenment. Challenged by years of addiction, fatigue, and family dysfunction, Frank’s quest for a healthier lifestyle is both tense and touching. Through Frank’s metamorphosis, we witness the powerful effects of change upon one person’s life, and the potential we all have to find the most important love of all–love of ourselves. www.MayIBeFrankMovie.com.
Clips of the movie and behind the scenes footage can be found on hulu.
I believe this is truly one documentary everyone should watch………..please help spread the word – we don’t need to suffer from most diseases and/or chronic pain. Many times it is a choice. Choose health.

Love me some Phil……
What Exactly Is The Maffetone Method?
Written by the one-and-only Dr. Phil Maffetone
On almost a daily basis, I will receive an email from someone asking why, after closely reading one of my new books twice, there was no workout schedule to follow. Or, the person will ask, where was the structured diet plan, you know, the kind with calorie charts that is a staple of most weight-loss books. I can understand their frustration. We live in a quick-fix society. Everyone is looking for that single, magical diet or miracle workout plan that will change their lives overnight. But this a fiction, and one that all the health and fitness magazines love promising their readers. But the only way to make long-lasting changes with one’s health and fitness is to think in terms of the individual. Meaning you.

So GM foods are safe “because a scientist says so”? Really? Wasn’t it scientists who said Thalidomide was safe just before it created thousands of birth defects? Wasn’t it scientists who declared DDT safe and the savior of the world, and then it turned out to be an ecological disaster that nearly exterminated a number of species?
Do scientists even know the meaning of the word safe? Apparently not – especially when they are working for a profit hungry commercial organization.
A comment included in The Truth about Genetically Modified Food [Preview]
Proponents of genetically modified crops say the technology is the only way to feed a warming, increasingly populous world. Critics say we tamper with nature at our peril. Who is right?
By David H. Freedman
The truth is we don’t know what harm genetically modifying food will do to our bodies and our children’s bodies because they haven’t been around long enough. I would think that a crop that can withstand huge amounts of pesticide would not be good for our digestion system or our cells. I would think that corporations spending thousands of dollars to keep from having to include this info on food labels would be reason for me to question their intentions. If it is not a bad thing, why not label it? We know that is causing harm to the environment and we know it has not been a good thing for farmers………. Do we continue to allow this to happen? Or do we demand better?
Genetically modified (GM) crops are promoted on the basis of a range of far-reaching claims from the GM crop industry and its supporters. They say that GM crops:
- Are an extension of natural breeding and do not pose different risks from naturally bred crops
- Are safe to eat and can be more nutritious than naturally bred crops
- Are strictly regulated for safety
- Increase crop yields
- Reduce pesticide use
- Benefit farmers and make their lives easier
- Bring economic benefits
- Benefit the environment
- Can help solve problems caused by climate change
- Reduce energy use
- Will help feed the world.
However, a large and growing body of scientific and other authoritative evidence shows that these claims are not true. On the contrary, evidence presented in this report indicates that GM crops:
- Are laboratory-made, using technology that is totally different from natural breeding methods, and pose different risks from non-GM crops
- Can be toxic, allergenic or less nutritious than their natural counterparts
- Are not adequately regulated to ensure safety
- Do not increase yield potential
- Do not reduce pesticide use but increase it
- Create serious problems for farmers, including herbicide-tolerant “superweeds”, compromised soil quality, and increased disease susceptibility in crops
- Have mixed economic effects
- Harm soil quality, disrupt ecosystems, and reduce biodiversity
- Do not offer effective solutions to climate change
- Are as energy-hungry as any other chemically-farmed crops
- Cannot solve the problem of world hunger but distract from its real causes – poverty, lack of access to food and, increasingly, lack of access to land to grow it on.
Based on the evidence presented in this report, there is no need to take risks with GM crops when effective, readily available, and sustainable solutions to the problems that GM technology is claimed to address already exist. Conventional plant breeding, in some cases helped by safe modern technologies like gene mapping and marker assisted selection, continues to outperform GM in producing high-yield, drought-tolerant, and pest- and disease-resistant crops that can meet our present and future food needs.
